Dr. Naveen Agnihotri
- Chief Technology Officer Dr. Naveen Agnihotri leads the Sobayli development and tehnical team as the Chief Technology Officer. As a neuroscientist and a computer scientist, Naveen has researched, developed, and perfected novel neural network algorithms. Naveen applies his technical wisdom to every aspect of Sobayli's software development process. Naveen trained as a computer engineer in India, and got an MS in Biological Engineering at Univ of Georgia. He then went on to do a PhD in neuroscience at Columbia University, working with nobel laureate Eric Kandel on how brain networks process and store information. He did a postdoctoral fellowship at computational neuroscience laboratory at MIT where he studied how neurons talk to one another and create new networks. He has published in leading journals in neuroscience as well as computer science and mathematics. Naveen also teaches neuroscience at Columbia University. |

Walter Borden - Chief Executive Officer As founder and CEO, Walter Borden, uses his 15 years of experience with software engineering and marketing, to guide the development of the Sobayli team and its technology products. After evaluating internet projects in mainland China for Intermarket Ventures, Inc., and managing product development for leading international scientific publishing company, Springer-Verlag, Walter founded his first company - BKL Media. Having successfully marketed its software tools to the entertainment industry, Walter and his investment partners sold BKL media to the King Biscuit Entertainment Group in 2002. Walter has studied advanced mathematics and biology at Columbia University. Walter holds a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design with a minor in Biology from Brown University, where he cross-matriculated. |

Sam Cox
- Chief Operating Officer As the Chief Operating Officer, Sam makes sure that the company is on track both operationally and financially. Sam worked at The Loughlan Group for the past two and a half years providing strategic consulting for, and investing in technology and media ventures. He has 9 years of experience advising start-up and growing businesses in the media and technology. He founded a successful design & software firm during his undergraduate degree, and has consulted for firms in the UK, China, United States and Canada. He graduated with his MBA from Cass Business School in London, UK with a degree in strategy and completed his undergraduate degree in Art History at Queen's University in Canada. He is an avid sportsman and competes both nationally and internationally in both competitive sailing and triathlon. |

Dr. Artem Starovoytov
- Lead Scientist Dr. Artem Starovoytov combines his advanced knowledge of theoretical and experimental physics and neuroscience with his computer programming expertise to create breakthrough technology products for Sobayli.
Artem earned his Physics and Engineering M.Sc in Moscow (the famous
PhysTech Institute) and his Physics Ph.D in Leicester (UK).
Artem is also certified by the Enrico
Fermi School of Physics and by Sun Microsystems. |

Dr. Qilai Song
- Scientist Dr. Qilai Song has trained in biophysics, and has worked as a mechtronics technician and as a university professor in China. At Sobayli, he is involved in engineering better ways to do image analysis using neural networks and other mathematical formulations. Qilai has an MS in Computer Science from Boston University, and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Mississippi University. He has worked with neuroscience centers in Boston University and Brandeis, and with the financial analysis company BH Technologies in Cambridge MA developing stock trading software for wall street units. Other than his work with Sobayli, he is also interested in bioengineering plants and/or microbes to produce greener energy to better the environment for human beings. |

Dr. Vladislav Savchenko
- Scientist Dr. Vlad Savchenko brings diverse computational and quantitative skills to the Sobayli technical team. A theoretical physicist, Vlad applies his advanced expertise in physics, mathematics, financial analysis, computer engineering and an extensive background in market research to the Sobayli organization. Vlad holds a B.S. and M.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and M.A. and Ph.D. in Physics and Astrophysics from Princeton University. A fiercely dedicated researcher, Vlad recently received an NSF grant to explore radiation effects in plasmas. He has been published in over 26 scientific journals and displays tremendous theoretical curiosity. |

Dr. Ioannis Stamos
- Scientist Ioannis Stamos is spending his sabbatical leave at Sobayli. He is an associate professor of Computer Science at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY),and a member of the doctoral faculty of the Graduate Center of CUNY. Ioannis is working in the areas of Computer Vision and Computer Graphics. His current research interests are in the broad area of photorealistic 3-D model acquisition and the utilization of dense range 3-D data. He has been working on range image segmentation, 3-D modeling and range to image registration algorithms. He received his Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department of Columbia University on 2001, his M.S. and M.Phil. from the same department and his Diploma of Engineering from the University of Patras (Department of Computer Engineering), Greece. Professor Stamos is a recipient of the Faculty Early Career Development Award (CAREER) by the National Science Foundation (NSF). His work is published in major computer vision journals and conferences. |

Chris Leung - Web Technologist Chris Leung brings his broad technology expertise to Sobayli. He is responsible for technical and creative development of websites and other user interfaces, and participates in virtually all our projects. He is an expert in computer networking, user interface design, and all issues relating to the web, including Flash, Apache, PHP, XML, java and C++. Chris is a graduate of NYU. |

Dr. Richard Turner - Advisory Board Director As the Sobayli Advisory Board Director, Dr. Richard Turner has been instrumental in exploring the application of Sobayli technology to the defense and aerospace industries. Rich has a broad background in software and systems engineering, most recently as a Director at the Systems and Software Consortium - a not-for-profit, membership-based institute that provides research and development services to companies including Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Bosch, and Citibank. He has developed and acquired software in both the private and public sectors and has consulted for government and commercial organizations. He is co-author of two books: Balancing Agility and Discipline: A Guide for the Perplexed (Addison-Wesley, 2004) and CMMIsm Distilled (Addison-Wesley 2000, 2004). Rich has a B.A. in Mathematics from Huntingdon College, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and a DSc in Engineering Management from George Washington University. |

Kenneth Neu - Board Member and Technical Advisor As a former FBI agent with experience in the Crimes Against Children Unit, Ken Neu provided critical insight that was used to train Sobayli's artificially intelligent child protection application - Online Chaperone. Ken entered duty as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1969. As Assistant Section Chief, Ken oversaw the Crimes Against Children Unit (which included the Innocent Images National Initiative) until his retirement in 2002. Prior to joining the FBI, Ken received his B.S. and M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was a Design Engineer for the Raytheon Corporation. Ken is currently a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and an associate member of the Criminal Justice Section of the American Bar Association. |
